Unit Summary

Focused through the lens of industrial development, this unit provides a broad overview of the history of the City of Quincy. Students will encounter new information about the places they see everyday through research at the library, and Internet, analyzing maps of the area from three different centuries and, if possible, field trips to museums and other historic places. Students will learn about the people who shaped the Quincy we live in today by learning about the industries and inventions they created.

How did natural resources help shape Quincy?
