The Cape Cod Canal. One of the two bridges (here the Sagamore Bridge)
spanning the canal. The Canal was cut through the ‘shortest’
width of the isthmus (seven miles) along the route of a small river. Completed
in 1914 it is one of the major canals of the world in depth.
