A characteristic rural scene in much of the central part of the state. “Land for sale”; it has been so for in this area since the great farm abandonment in the 19th century. Few would move to these remoter regions but the opening up by good roads and wealth created by a fast paced economy has allowed land which has traditionally been for pasture, orchards and limited farming to now grow houses.
