WHO
WE ARE:
The
Massachusetts Studies Project is an outreach project
for educators and students located at the University
of Massachusetts Boston in the Institute for Learning
and Teaching. Its mission is to ground students in
their own communities by localizing the curriculum.
The MSP supports education reform to enhance lifelong
learning in three ways:
- Massachusetts-related
information and curriculum materials through databases
on the World Wide Web that encourage community research
and involvement in relevant experiences;
- professional development
training for teachers to integrate technology and
relate resources to curriculum frameworks;
- development of instructional
materials and resources where not already available.
PARTNERSHIPS:
The MSP works with partners in grant proposals and seeks
collaboration with related educational organizations
to accomplish its mission. It currently collaborates

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE:

The MSP aims to expand its website with greater content
and graphics,web connections and searchability, in
collaboration with partners and sponsors, to work
with more teachers to integrate resources and technology
into the curriculum, and to showcase good teaching
practices on Massachusetts themes.
