Hello Parents/Caregivers

December is here and Blue Room has some exciting things to look forward to as well as a few reminders.

Last month:

¨       We worked hard on our “Home” theme and had a lot of fun with it.

¨       We also enjoyed entertaining family and friends at our Harvest Festival.  The children were so proud to sing their new song and read a book aloud!  Thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to participate in this special occasion.

¨       Sadly, we said goodbye to our Trolley friends last week.  Blue Room friends worked together to make a thank you/ good bye card.  Trolley rides will begin again next March.

This month:

¨       We have welcomed two new friends from Yellow Room, Noah and Alicia.  In the upcoming week we look forward to welcoming Bianca, also from the Yellow Room.

¨       Our next theme will be “Restaurant”.  In addition to projects in the classroom, the Blue Room will be visiting various restaurants around downtown.

*At home, encourage your child to help prepare a meal!

¨       We plan on continuing taking walks around downtown to notice the change in seasons and observe our community.

IMPORTANT Reminders:

¨       Blue Room’s drop off time is 7am- 9:30am.  It is mandatory that your child arrives to school during this time.  Any child dropped off after 9:30am is not included in the lunch count and will be sent home.  Please do not put the staff in this position!  For any extreme situations, such as a doctor’s appointment, please call and let the staff know.

¨       Breakfast is served from 8:40am- 9:10am.  Children arriving to school after 9:10am should be fed breakfast at home.  Any food brought into school will be left in the cubby and sent home at the end of the day.

¨       The cold winter weather is here.  Please make sure your child comes to school wearing a warm jacket, mittens/gloves, and a hat.  Blue room will continue going on various walks, even when there is snow on the ground!

¨       Each child has a canvas bag in his/her cubby.  These bags should always contain a full change of clothing (shirt, sweatshirt, pants, socks, and underwear).  You may also choose to keep your child’s jacket in the bag.

¨       FRIDAYs: Please bring your child’s naptime blankets/pillow home to be cleaned over the weekend.  They should be brought back and put into the naptime cubbies (located in our classroom) on Mondays.

¨       Sign in/out is mandatory for each drop-off/pick-up.  This is a safety precaution for the center.  Our sign in/out sheet is on the clipboard near the classroom door.

Thank you for your continuous support.  We look forward to another wonderful month!

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to talk to any of the Blue room staff!
